Annual Earth Day River Clean-Up
South Platte Renew (SPR) is hosting the annual River Clean-Up event between April 11 and April 23. Building off the success of last year’s virtual event, this year will be a hybrid of DIY (do-it-yourself) efforts throughout the two weeks, leading up to the clean-up of Centennial Park on Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. – noon.
Virtual Clean-up | April 11-23: Volunteers can join SPR and the cities of Littleton and Englewood from their communities by collecting debris and trash from their neighborhoods, local rivers, lakes, or parks. Over the two-week period, volunteers can choose their preferred date, time, and location to keep local recreation areas clean, safe, and looking their best.
In-Person Clean-Up | April 23:
- Time – 9 a.m. to noon
- Location – Centennial Park (4630 S Decatur Street, Englewood, CO 80110)
- Parking – There is parking at the Decatur Street park entrance. If needed, there is additional parking at the Union Ave. entrance.
- Check-in / Supplies – We will have a check-in booth set up at the Decatur Street parking lot with trash/recycle bags, safety equipment, and other supplies. Once you check in and collect your supplies, we will split into small groups and clean up the park!
This year’s goal is to collect 250 bags of trash and recycling throughout the event. SPR asks volunteers to share photos of their clean-up efforts and the total number of bags collected with Erin Bartlett at ebartlett@englewoodco.gov.
SPR will share Clean-Up progress online, and participants that register will be entered to win prizes!
All participants should register for the event via the form below. If you have any questions, please contact Erin Bartlett.
