Our Educational Mission – To SEEK out new opportunities, TEACH our future professionals, and INSPIRE environmental stewardship, while we REACH our communities and stakeholders. STIR the hearts and passions of our environmental leaders of tomorrow.

It is our goal at South Platte Renew to help improve environmental literacy within our community. Our Education and Outreach team is available to help educators with water education curriculum. The team provides expertise on being environmental stewards to the South Platte River including tours and educational events.

The following information and resources are available for educators, including homeschooling. These resources can be used to teach students about the water cycle and the water renewal process.

Water Cycle Information

The water cycle describes how water evaporates from the surface of the earth, rises into the atmosphere, cools and condenses into rain or snow in clouds, and falls again to the surface as precipitation.

The South Platte River is one of the two principal tributaries of the Platte River. Flowing through Colorado and Nebraska, it is a major river of the American Midwest, Southwest and Mountain West. The river serves as the main source of water for eastern Colorado.

Community Events

South Platte Renew hosts several major community events annually, where community members are invited to visit our facility and learn about the water renewal process. We also partner with the Cities of Englewood and Littleton at their events to educate the community on the water renewal process.
