South Platte Renew (SPR) facility is set to unveil Colorado’s very first Gas Recovery Facility and Pipeline Injection Project. This project will be used exclusively by SPR to inject the natural gas recovered from its wastewater treatment process, into Xcel Energy’s natural gas pipeline.
SPR, has worked closely with Xcel Energy, Carrollo Engineers, J.R. Filanc Construction Company and Bluesource to produce this gas recovery facility that will reduce the local carbon footprint by 5,000 metric tons of CO2 per year, which is enough to drive 13.5 million miles in a single car.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the SPR facility. The presentation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a complimentary breakfast at 10:30 a.m.
